Lalique pays tribute to its Libellule brooch with Illusion Captive

Illusion Captive is a fragrance that comes from the Noir Premier Collection. However, each of the fragrances in this assortment is contained in a bottle whose glass walls are inspired by the most beautiful pieces of Lalique jewelry. All the perfumes in the Noir Premier Collection are thus presented in the “Quatre Aigle” bottle, designed by René Lalique himself in 1911. Illusion Captive is no exception to the rule. Nevertheless, a little novelty slips on its walls. It is sublimated with a golden glow forming a sort of crackle design. Moreover, this pattern is also found on its cardboard case, in darker shades, black and gray. This design is directly inspired by the motif of the wings of the famous Libellule brooch by Lalique. The rich perfumed breath of Lalique Illusion Captive

Illusion Captive is a particularly rich and complex fragrance. It owes its existence to the perfumer Karine Dubreuil-Sereni and brings together in its single breath many noble and emblematic raw materials of perfumery. Thus, Illusion Captive sets off on a fruity freshness of bergamot and fig. Sambac jasmine, on the other hand, illuminates the heart of this fragrance with its floral opulence. Nonetheless, it is tickled by the more spicy and incandescent presence of cinnamon. Finally, the base of Illusion Captive is finally structured with many woods such as patchouli, cedar or cistus. Vanilla, tonka bean and myrrh finish wrapping it all up and only increase the sensuality of this juice.

A fragrance from the Noir Premier Collection

As seen previously, Illusion Captive is an essence from the prestigious Noir Premier Collection. Much more than a blend of perfumes, it is a true tribute to the most beautiful creations of Lalique and to the milestones in its history. Initially, the Noir Premier Collection consisted of five essences. Each of them was associated with a key Lalique date. Today, Illusion Captive symbolizes the year 1898. For the record, know that it is precisely on this date that René Lalique set up in a glass workshop on the property of Clairefontaine, in the Yvelines. This move allowed him to expand his workshops and develop the technique of blown glass.
